Diagnosis
(after Framenau et al. 2022): Socca senicaudata is more morphologically most similar to S. arena (see detailed Diagnosis there).Males can be best distinguished by the shape of the conductor in apico-ventral view, which is sub-triangular with straight apical edge in S. senicaudata but pointed spoon-shaped with curved apical edge in S. arena. Females of both species are very similar, specifically with respect to the shape of the epigyne atrium, but can be separated by the antero-lateral corner of the epigyne, which is rounded in S. senicaudata but form a distinct corner in S. arena. The scape, if present, is basally much narrow and less pronounced in S. senicaudata than in S. arena.
