(after Framenau 2006): Venatrix summa appears to be closely related to V. kosciuskoensis, however, females differ in the colouration of carapace and abdomen. In addition, the median septum of the female epigyne in V. summa widens anteriorly, whereas it is of similar width along its whole length in V. kosciuskoensis.
