Wolf Spiders
Genus 3643 (yalkara grp)
Fauna Portal Genus Number: 3643
The yalkara-group of Wolf Spiders belongs to the subfamily Lycosinae. They include medium-sized lycosids of brown-mottled coluoration. Three quarters of the ventral abdomen is coloured black (as for example in the genus Venator). They are characterised by the shape of their genitalia. The tegular apophysis in the male pedipalp is largely quadrate in ventral view. In retrolateral view its edge has caracteristic waves and a basal hook. The female epigyne is a somewhat rectangular sclerotised plate with few features.
