(after Framenau & Vink 2001): Venatrix hickmani shares the ventral pattern with V. pictiventris and V. allopictiventris. The tegular apophysis of the male pedipalp differs considerably from both of these species because it does not have a long, slim ventral process but it is rather triangular (viewed retrolaterally). The epigyne is very similar to the epigyne of V. pictiventris but the shape is triangular rather than pentagonal.
