(after Framenau & Vink 2001): Venatrix lapidosa differs from all other species of Venatrix by its dull olive-green to light brown colouration without any distinctive pattern. The tegular apophysis of the male pedipalp differs from other species by having its lateral tip bent ventrally. The female epigyne is anchor-shaped and the lateral edges of the median transverse part end in a sharp tip.
