Maude's Ladder-web Spider Telaprocera maudae Harmer & Framenau, 2008
Fauna Portal species: 6741Diagnosis
(after Harmer & Framenau 2008): This species is the larger of the two within the genus. However, in some instances sizes overlap, with smaller T. maudae adults being approximately the same size as large T. joanae adult females. Males have a large, shallow dish-shaped median apophysis, and a comparatively shorter, curved terminal apophysis, in contrast to T. joanae in which the median apophysis is much smaller, and the terminal apophysis is larger with a digitiform process. Females of T. maudae are distinguished by a narrower epigyne, with the short, distal portion of the scape angled anteriorly, back away from the copulatory openings, in contrast to T. joanae in which the epigyne is wider than long and the distal portion angled posteriorly.

Fauna Portal Records
The map shows all records that have been verified as part of the Fauna Portal project and may not represent the true distribution of a species. Specifically, for described species, check the link to the Atlas of Living Australia on this page for potential wider distributions. Fauna Portal Reference specimens and Linnean types are shown in red. If you identified a specimen that exceeds the distribution of an undescribed species as illustrated here, please contact the Fauna Portal team who can assist with the lodgement of the specimen in a public institution and display on the map.
