Joan's Ladder-web Spider Telaprocera joanae Harmer & Framenau, 2008
Fauna Portal species: 6740Diagnosis
(after Harmer & Framenau 2008):
Telaprocera joanae is generally smaller than T. maudae and is characterised by the green colouration, narrower, more tapered abdomen, with white dorsolateral humeral projections and strong scalloped pattern on the posterior lateral surface. The median apophysis of the male pedipalp is reduced in comparison to the median apophysis of T. maudae, and is not dish-shaped. There is a basoembolic apophysis present, and a digitiform process originating on the terminal apophysis, both of which are lacking in T. maudae. Females can be distinguished by the comparatively wider epigyne, which is approximately two and a half times wider than long, and the short distal portion of the scape which is curved posteriorly and partially covering the copulatory openings.

Fauna Portal Records
The map shows all records that have been verified as part of the Fauna Portal project and may not represent the true distribution of a species. Specifically, for described species, check the link to the Atlas of Living Australia on this page for potential wider distributions. Fauna Portal Reference specimens and Linnean types are shown in red. If you identified a specimen that exceeds the distribution of an undescribed species as illustrated here, please contact the Fauna Portal team who can assist with the lodgement of the specimen in a public institution and display on the map.
