(after Framenau & Castanheira 2022): The genital morphology of males of S. fuliginata is most similar to that of S. recherchensis, however, the median apopohysis is relatively longer and more slender in S. fuliginata and the terminal apophysis lacks the distinct spine-like prong present in S. recherchensis. The epigyne of female S. fuliginata is most similar to that of S. recherchensis, but in S. fuliginata the atrium is not visible due to a rotation of the epigyne into the abdomen, whereas the atrium is visible ventrally in S. recherchensis In addition, the apical section of the scape is straight in lateral view in S. fuliginata, but curved in S. recherchensis.
