Females of Larinia FP-11638 are similar to those of Larinia FP-11637 based on the elevated epigyne with a posterior incision or chanel. However, the epigyne of Larinia FP-11638 is more elongate and has a smoother surface. The extended median apophysis of male FP-11638 is unique within Larinia.
The female of this species is similar to that illustrated by L. Koch (1871) for his Araneus interjectus, but the whereabouts of the holotype of that species described from Port McKay (Queensland) is unknown.
