(after Castanheira and Framenau 2023): Male K. amblycyphus can be distinguished from those of K. arenaceus by the double central protrusion on the median apophysis, the bubble-shaped terminal apophysis, and the shorter and thicker basal protrusion of the conductor with a lamellar apical protuberance. Females of K. amblycyphus can be differentiated from those of other Kangaraneus species by the epigyne scape not entirely covering the atrium.
