(after Framenau 2002): Artoria albopedipalpis is morphologically similar to A. mckayi. The lateral branch of the tegular apophysis is broader and the tegular apophysis bears a second apical protrusion (in A. mckayi there is only one, the apical branch of the median apophysis). The epigyne has a large ovoid plate compared with the simple opening with weakly sclerotised borders in A. mckayi. The carapace width (±s.d.) of A. albopedipalpis specimens collected in the Victorian Alps was significantly larger (1.94 ± 0.16, n = 739) than that of A. mckayi (1.7 ± 0.15, n =251;t = 20.468, P < 0.001), however, sizes overlapped.
