(after Framenau 2007): The tegular apophysis of A. melissae is unique within the genus. It is straight with a constriction at about three quarters of its length and ending in a blunt tip. The rectangular median septum of the female epigyne is very similar to the median septum of A. klausi but the lateral borders diverge anteriorly in A. melissae, whereas they constrict in A. klausi.
