(after Framenau & Douglas 2023): Males of V. judyrainbirdae differ distinctly from the other two species in the genus of which males are known, V. spenceri and V. immansuetus, by the unique shape of the tegular apophysis of the pedipalp, which does not have a retrolateral incision (as in V. spenceri) and is not bent basally at its tip (as in V. immansuetus). Instead, the tegular apophysis is broad and concave retrolaterally.
