(after Platnick 2000): Lampona punctigera resembles L. braemar in having a triangular retrolateral tibial apophysis and in the shape of the spermathecae, but can be distinguished in males by the presence of a ledge-like ventral protrusion near the base of the palpal femur, the more dorsally directed tip of the retrolateral tibial apophysis, and the widened, triangular embolus, and in females by the distinct anterior depression of the epigynum and the short, bean-shaped spermathecae.
