Buddelundia
FP-2670 (BWI sp. 3)
Discoverer: S. Judd (2013)
Fauna Portal species: 2670Diagnosis
(after Judd & Perina 2013): This is an undescribed species that occurs throughout the coastal parts of the western Pilbara. The principal diagnostic characters are: frontal shield divided into upper and lower sections by a transverse groove; prominent sulcus arcuatus on pereonite 1; pleonite 3 without interlocking lobes; protuberances above the clypeus in males; and outer lobe of the schisma on the posterior corner of pereonite 1 slightly projected backwards and longer than inner lobe. The species shows affinities with B. bipartita occurring between Denham and Geraldton, B. cinerascens from Rottnest Island and B. inaequalis from Fremantle. All these species need to be revised in detail to obtain a better understanding of their taxonomic status and distribution.

Fauna Portal Records
The map shows all records that have been verified as part of the Fauna Portal project and may not represent the true distribution of a species. Specifically, for described species, check the link to the Atlas of Living Australia on this page for potential wider distributions. Fauna Portal Reference specimens and Linnean types are shown in red. If you identified a specimen that exceeds the distribution of an undescribed species as illustrated here, please contact the Fauna Portal team who can assist with the lodgement of the specimen in a public institution and display on the map.
