Buddelundia
FP-11811 (SJ 63)
Discoverer: S. Judd (2023)
Fauna Portal species: 11811Diagnosis
Large animal. Frontal shield divided into upper and lower sections by a transverse groove. Posterior margin of frontal shield well defined and slightly raised from vertex of head. Complex interlocking structures on pereonite 1 and 2 as in Figs 6611 and 6612. Lateral posterior border of pereonite 1 only slightly angled backward, almost straight in lateral view. Distal margin of pereonite 1 thickened with prominent sulcus arcuatus running entire length of pereonite. Pereonite 2 with acute tooth-like lobe and well-developed structures on ventral side of pereonites 6 and 7 (Fig. 6613).
This species is very similar to Buddelundia FP-11799 (SJ16)and can be determined by differences in the prominence of the sulcus arcuatus and the interlocking structures on the pereonites.

Fauna Portal Records
The map shows all records that have been verified as part of the Fauna Portal project and may not represent the true distribution of a species. Specifically, for described species, check the link to the Atlas of Living Australia on this page for potential wider distributions. Fauna Portal Reference specimens and Linnean types are shown in red. If you identified a specimen that exceeds the distribution of an undescribed species as illustrated here, please contact the Fauna Portal team who can assist with the lodgement of the specimen in a public institution and display on the map.
