Small highly convex animal. Dorsum a glossy brown appearance sometimes covered with short setae. Cream-coloured telson and uropods sometimes present. Frontal shield not divided into upper and lower sections by a transverse groove. Frontal line a smooth arc slightly raised form the vertex of the head. Posterior margin of the first epimera straight (not angled backwards) and outer lobe of the schisma truncate making the inner lobe clearly visible and much longer than the outer lobe in lateral view. Short spine-like structure present on ventral surface of pereonal epimera 3. Complex interlocking lobate structures present on the ventral surface of the epimera of pereonites 5, 6 and 7 (Fig. 6883).
There are likely numerous species of this type in the Pilbara region. The morphological work required to determine this group of species is at a preliminary stage and consequently this species can only be diagnosed by molecular methods (COI barcoding).
