Animal only moderately convex, head generally wide with frontal shield divided into upper and lowers sections by a transverse groove. Distal margin of pereonite 1 not thickened or only slightly thickened and lacking true schisma. Pereonite 1 with epimera border angled backward and extending much further backwards than inner lobe in lateral view inner lobe. Animal uniformly dark brown often with brown-pigmented pereopods and/or pleopod exopodites.
Terrestrial isopods of this type are found in the Pilbara region and are relatively common and widespread there. There are likely numerous species. The morphological work required to determine species is at a preliminary stage and consequently this species can only be diagnosed by CO1 barcode. Common Pilbara brown slater
