(after Platnick 2000): This species closely resembles L. scutata, but males lack the oblique constriction at roughly half the length of the ventral surface of the palpal femur, have a less protuberant distoventral edge on the retrolateral tibial apophysis , and have a shorter conductor; females have relatively small spermathecae, with medially directed ducts budding off relatively long stalks.
