Latrodectus geometricus differs distinctly in colouration from the Redback Spider, the only other species in the genus Latrodectus from Australia. This is particularly distinct in the larger females. Male pedipalps differ from those of Latrodectus hasseltii by the larger number of embolic turns, 4 vs. 3.
