(after Dupérré 2023; based on syntype in ZMH): The females most resemble A. tangara but are distinguished by their anterior receptaculum with large, rounded ventral lobe while in the latter the anterior receptaculum has a small, elongated ventral lobe.
The species was described based on syntypes collected from a much wider range than generally known from Ariadna and it is likely that these represent different species. A review of the syntypes and possibly the designation of a lectotype is required to fix the species-group name of A. thyriantina.
