(after Wunderlich 1976): There are taxonomic relationships, specifically in relation the shape of the paracymbium, to L.aetesia mollita.
However, we here follow Millidige (1988) who suggested (p. 42) that Laetesia forsteri appears to belong in Dunedinia and it is therefore listed under Dunedinia. It is the only species of this genus on the Fauna Portal.
