(after Framenau et. al. 2010): Members of Arkys differ from Demadiana in the absence of deep setal pits with spherical sockets on the carapace, sternum and paturon, the absence of elongated trumpet-shaped aggregate gland spigots on the PLS of both males and females and by their larger size (body length more than approximately 3.5 mm)
