Common Spotted Crab Spider Tharrhalea evanida (L. Koch, 1867)
Fauna Portal species: 345Diagnosis
(after Szymkoviak 2014): The female epigynal plate with two weakly sclerotised arches which converge in the anterior part of epigyne, and small central hood located at half their length; male pedipalps with cymbium protuberance on retro-lateral side, base of tegular ridge very close to base of embolus (the two almost contacting) which starts at 270° on tegular disc, retrolateral tibial apophysis with slight protuberance paraxially in mid-central position. The species is most similar to T. multopunctata and T. prasina. The female differs from T. prasina in the location of central hood at half length of epigyne and from T. multopunctata in the presence of sclerotised arches converging in the anterior part of epigyne. The male differs from T. multopunctata in having pedipalps with cymbium protuberance on the retro-lateral side.

Fauna Portal Records
The map shows all records that have been verified as part of the Fauna Portal project and may not represent the true distribution of a species. Specifically, for described species, check the link to the Atlas of Living Australia on this page for potential wider distributions. Fauna Portal Reference specimens and Linnean types are shown in red. If you identified a specimen that exceeds the distribution of an undescribed species as illustrated here, please contact the Fauna Portal team who can assist with the lodgement of the specimen in a public institution and display on the map.
