Prodidomus is the only genus in the family Prodidomidae in Australia.
Large-eyed Ground Spiders
Prodidomidae Simon, 1884
Type genus: Prodidomus Hentz, 1847
(after Rodrigues & Rheims 2020, as Prodidominae): Anterior lateral spinnerets with pyriform gland spigots elongated with base longer than shaft and with long setae around these spigots; presence of large protrusion between coxae IV with erect setae and unsclerotized margin.
Following Azevedo et al. (2022) the family is representent only by a single genus in Australia, Prodidomus, with the Molycriinae now considered to be part of the Gnaphosidae.
