Slender-septum Artoria Artoria tenuis Prado, Baptista & Framenau, 2026
Fauna Portal species: 12498Diagnosis
(after Prado, Baptista & Framenau, 2026): Females of A. tenuis have an epigyne similar to that from A. limitata, both forming an entire plate and a very small atrium in its posterior third. However, females of A. tenuis have an elliptical atrium, as wide as the epigyne, separated by a subrectangular median septum, and spermathecal stalks attached ectally to the spermathecae, while in A. limitata the atrium is less conspicuous, with the posterior margin poorly defined, narrower than the epigyne, the median septum and lateral lobes are inconspicuous, and the spermathecal stalks are attached posteriorly to the spermathecae.

Fauna Portal Records
The map shows all records that have been verified as part of the Fauna Portal project and may not represent the true distribution of a species. Specifically, for described species, check the link to the Atlas of Living Australia on this page for potential wider distributions. Fauna Portal Reference specimens and Linnean types are shown in red. If you identified a specimen that exceeds the distribution of an undescribed species as illustrated here, please contact the Fauna Portal team who can assist with the lodgement of the specimen in a public institution and display on the map.
