The genus Anahita has not been diagnosed with modern taxonomic methods, in particular against other Australian Ctenidae.

(after Raven et al. 2001): The boundary of Miturgidae with the Ctenidae seens clear: ctenids have the smaller anterior lateral eyes set high above the anterior median eyes, near the posterior lateral eyes, forrning an eye formula of 2.4.2. (The miturgid genus Elassoctenus has the anterior lateral eyes set higher but they are closer to the posterior median eyes than the posterior lateral eyes and do not form the 2.4.2 formula.)
