Pumpkin Artoria Artoria cucurbita Prado, Baptista & Framenau, 2026
Fauna Portal species: 12468Diagnosis
(after Prado, Baptista & Framenau, 2026): Females of A. cucurbita may resemble those of Artoria corowa Framenau & Baehr, 2018 due to the bilobate median septum and semicircular lateral lobes of the epigyne. However, in A. cucurbita the posterior margin of the median septum is rounded and does not have a distinct median notch as in A. corowa, and the posterior portions of the lateral lobes in A. cucurbita are distinctly projected mesally, almost touching each other and partially fused with the median septum, while in A. corowa they are far apart from each other and clearly distinct from the median septum. The spermathecal stalks in A. cucurbita are attached dorsally to the spermathecae, while in A. corowa they are attached ectally

Fauna Portal Records
The map shows all records that have been verified as part of the Fauna Portal project and may not represent the true distribution of a species. Specifically, for described species, check the link to the Atlas of Living Australia on this page for potential wider distributions. Fauna Portal Reference specimens and Linnean types are shown in red. If you identified a specimen that exceeds the distribution of an undescribed species as illustrated here, please contact the Fauna Portal team who can assist with the lodgement of the specimen in a public institution and display on the map.
