Hidden-septum Artoria Artoria abscondita Prado, Baptista & Framenau, 2026
Fauna Portal species: 12463Diagnosis
Females of Artoria abscondita are similar to A. booderee Framenau & Baehr, 2018 due to their epigyne bearing large and robust lateral lobes and a narrow median septum. However, the epigyne of A. abscondita differs from that of A. booderee by having the lateral lobes almost touching each other, being more robust and broad and with its posterior half projected mesally covering most of the posterior half of the median septum and by bearing a short atrium with anterior margin poorly delimited. In A. booderee the lateral lobes are not projected mesally and the anterior margin of the atrium is well-delimited

Fauna Portal Records
The map shows all records that have been verified as part of the Fauna Portal project and may not represent the true distribution of a species. Specifically, for described species, check the link to the Atlas of Living Australia on this page for potential wider distributions. Fauna Portal Reference specimens and Linnean types are shown in red. If you identified a specimen that exceeds the distribution of an undescribed species as illustrated here, please contact the Fauna Portal team who can assist with the lodgement of the specimen in a public institution and display on the map.
