Of the four species of Xestaspis found on Barrow Island, Xestaspis FP-259 is most similar to Xestaspis FP-258, but differs in the slightly larger size and the slightly colour, in particular the legs of similar colour to the body, not lighter. Both species may represent the same species pending the discovery of males of Xestaspis FP-259.
