Eastern Green Orb-weaver Araneus psittacinus (Keyserling, 1887)
Fauna Portal species: 6601Diagnosis
Genus 3313 psittacinus is currently misplaced in Araneus. This species was re-described in Dondale (1966) and has an elongated basal lobe of the denticled terminal apophysis in the male pedipalp, similar to Genus 3313 eburneiventris and FP-153. All may turn out to be the same, somewhat variable species pending a revision of this new genus, although the epigyne as illustrated in Dondale (1966) is fairly different to the one the two species mentioned above.
