Barrow Island Spinule Ant-eating Spider
Genus 3667 (male ventral spinules)
FP-368
Discoverer: J.M. Waldock (2007)
Fauna Portal species: 368Diagnosis
Males of Genus 3667 FP-368 differ distinctly from the other Barrow Island species of the genus, Genus 3667 FP-13440, by the lack of an irregular, spine-like dorsal branch of the retrolateral tibial apophysis. Females differ by the shap of the epigyne, which is more sclerotised in Genus 3667 FP-368, and lacks the distinct, two-lobed anterior border.
Males and females between Genus 3667 FP-368 and Genus 3667 FP-13440 were matched using molecular methods (COI barcoding).

Fauna Portal Records
The map shows all records that have been verified as part of the Fauna Portal project and may not represent the true distribution of a species. Specifically, for described species, check the link to the Atlas of Living Australia on this page for potential wider distributions. Fauna Portal Reference specimens and Linnean types are shown in red. If you identified a specimen that exceeds the distribution of an undescribed species as illustrated here, please contact the Fauna Portal team who can assist with the lodgement of the specimen in a public institution and display on the map.
