Diagnosis

(after Baehr & Baehr 1987): Tamopsis fickerti is a large, long-legged, vividly or dark-coloured species, distinguished by high eye area, median apophysis with sharp outer edge at apex; lateral apophysis more robust, more contorted, and apex more deeply excised than in the very similar following species, and vulva with strongly swollen insemination duct.

Linnean Type

Neotype (designated in Baehr & Baehr 1987): male, Braemar, via Chinchilla, Queensland, State Forest, 27°13'S, 150°50'E, R. Raven and Q.?., 15–19 October 1979, on treetrunks (QM).
