Colourful Ground Spider Ceryerda cursitans Simon, 1909

Fauna Portal species: 190
Family: Gnaphosidae

Diagnosis

The genus Ceryerda has not been revised and its type species, C. cursitans, has not been reviewed for its treatment on the Fauna Portal. Among all species of Ceryerda, we tentatively illustrate the most widespread and common as C. cursitans, as it is the only one spreading across the type locality of that species, Day Dawn in Western Australia's Midwest.

C. cursitans is very similar to Ceryerda FP-11565, although it differs by male pedipalp morphology, for example in the much broader retrolateral tibial apophysis.

Fauna Portal Records

The map shows all records that have been verified as part of the Fauna Portal project and may not represent the true distribution of a species. Specifically, for described species, check the link to the Atlas of Living Australia on this page for potential wider distributions. Fauna Portal Reference specimens and Linnean types are shown in red. If you identified a specimen that exceeds the distribution of an undescribed species as illustrated here, please contact the Fauna Portal team who can assist with the lodgement of the specimen in a public institution and display on the map.
