Caliscelidae Amyot & Serville, 1843
Type genus: Caliscelis De Laporte, 1833
Previously included in Issidae, but separated by difference in structures of the female genitalia and ovipositor (Emeljanov 1999). lssidae are distinguished by the pterygomonomorphism with slightly diminished, peculiar, case-shaped or steeply tectiform tegmina. Caliscelidae are distinguished by the pterygodimorphism with prevalence of strongly brachypterous form (reduced wings).
