Ricaniid Planthoppers
Ricaniidae Amyot & Audinet-Serville, 1843
Type genus: Ricania Germar, 1818
(after Fletcher 2008): The Ricaniidae includes a range of broad-winged planthoppers distributed primarily around the tropics although the Australian fauna includes a number of species extending into the southern temperate parts of the continent. Most have triangular wings either opaque or with delicate lacy brown patterning. A few species have glassy-clear wings.
