(after Framenau et al. 2023): Males of K. tanakai are unique within the genus as the embolus is kinked medially and points apically, its tip extending past the basoembolic apophysis, with a broad structure accompanying it. Females of K. tanakai have an epigyne with distinct median septum that broadens posteriorly, similar to those of K. obelix and K. westralia. Unlike in the latter two species, however, the median septum is poorly defined posteriorly in K. tanakai; in addition, the spermathecal heads are much further separated.
