(after Framenau et al. 2023): Males of K. australia are most similar to those of K. confusa, K. erratum and K. mendum due to the exposed, arched base of the embolus. Unlike K. confusa and K. erratum (but similar toK. mendum) the sperm duct that isvisible through the tegulum forms an open arch in K. australia but is a closed loop in the other two species. Male K. australia differ from K. mendum by details in the embolic division of the pedipalp bulb, specifically the presence of a central, apically pointing sclerotised apophysis that is accompanying the embolus apically which is absent in K. mendum. Females of K. australia have a very simple epigyne plate that is most similar to that of K. mendum; however, the epigyne of the latter have anterior edges which are absent in K. australia.
