Round Fungus Beetles
Leiodidae Fleming, 1821
(after Hangay & Zborowski 2010): Leodids are generally oval to almost spherical beetles that are dorsally flat or convex, ventrally flat or concave, often pubescent, sometimes shiny, and are usually dark brown to reddish-brown in colour. They are small beetles, usually 1-5mm in length. Their antennae are 10-11 segmented, ending in a loose 3-5 segmented club, in which segment 8 is usually smaller than segments 7 and 9. Their hind coxae are close together or touching and their tibia are often expanded and spiny. Tarsal formula is usually 5-5-5.
