Leaf Beetles
Chrysomelidae
(after Hangay & Zborowski 2010): Chrysomelids come in a diverse range of shapes and sizes, but are generally robust, often brightly coloured, often spotted, or striped, can be metallic in colour and range in size from 1-30mm. The head can be prognathous or hypognathous and sometimes deflexed. The antennae rarely extend past the middle of the body, are usually filiform, moniliform, weakly serrate or thickened apically, with no pronounced 3-segmented club. The elytra usually cover the entire abdomen and their tarsal formula is usually 5-5-5 but can appear as 4-4-4 (pseudotetramerous).
