Within the fauna of Barrow Island, Castiarina FP-13272 is most similar to Castiarinakirbyi but differs particular in the posterior yellow patches on the elytra that do not reach posterior along the elytra margins.
This species is similar to C. viridissima and C. purcellae as illustrated for South Australia (http://syzygium.xyz/buprestidae/species_photo_id.php?alphabetical)
