Rove Beetles
Staphylinidae
(after Hangay & Zborowski 2010): Staphylinids are mostly narrow and elongate beetles, roughly 0.5-20mm in length. Their elytra are typically very short, leaving more than half of the abdomen exposed. They are mostly dark in colour, while some are metallic or brightly coloured.
