Dorsum and telson without bumps or tubercules. Frontal ridge smoothly curved without projections and raised form vertex of head. Small rounded endolobes on pereonites 1 and 2 as shown in photographs. Flagellum of antenna very short with second article approximately three times length of first.
Isopods in the genus Cubaris are very rare in Western Australia and cannot yet be determined morphology. This species is diagnosed by molecular data (COI barcoding).
