Small Long-jawed Orb-weavers
Nanometa Simon, 1908
Type species: Nanometa gentilis Simon, 1908
Fauna Portal Genus Number: 3039
(after Álvarez-Padilla et al. 2020): Female epigyne structure similar to Taraire (from New Zealand). The posterior edge of the epigyne in female Nanometa never extends below the epigastric furrow, in contrast to Taraire (from New Zealand), where the posterior edge extends beyond the epigastric furrow. Nanometa males can be separated from those of Taraire, Tawhai, and Iamarra by the absence of basal embolic apophyses and by the conductor formed by a flat coiled sclerite with sclerotized margins and translucent middle section; this structure is folded in the latter two genera.
