Ground Spider
Intruda Forster, 1979
Type species: Gnaphosoides signatus Hogg, 1900
Fauna Portal Genus Number: 2728
Forster (1979) did not provide a differential diagnosis for the genus. Murphy (2007) states: This species is certainly a member of the Gnaphosidae, but is unplaced within this Atlas. Both female and male are strongly patterned, but the male lacks an abdominal scutum. It possibly belongs to a distinct group from the Australia-New Zealand area.
Zakharov and Ovtsharenko (2011) elaborate: In general, the bulb construction of Intruda signata is very similar to that of Drassodes lapidosus. The difference between these two bulb types is the more complicated construction of the conductor and embolus in Intruda signata.
