Crusader Bugs
Mictis Leach, 1814
Type species: Mictis profana (Fabricius, 1803) - as Mictis crucifera Leach, 1814
Fauna Portal Genus Number: 688
(after O'Shea and Schaefer 1980): Mictis, a relatively large genus and more variable than many coreid genera, can be distinguished from other Mictini by the separate medio-ventral and lateral tubercles on abdominal segment 3. The rather similar Neomictis has lateral tubercles mounted on the median tubercle itself, and Aspilosterna has very small tubercles, and a more expanded pronotum.
