(after Mackerras 1968): Medium-sized, oval, slightly convex, minutely nodular, with vestigial tegmina separated from mesonotum for about one-quarter of its length; light to dark reddish-brown with pale coxal borders.
Mackerras (1968) placed this species in Melanozosteria, but it has recently been transferred to Platyzosteria.
