Opiliones (Harvestmen)
Harvestmen look superficially like spiders, but differ distinctly in a number of characters, most importantly the broadly fused cephalothorax and abdomen (spiders have a narrow pedicel connecting both), the lack of venom glands in their chelicerae and the lack of abdominal spinnerets. Australian Harvestmen include approximately 10 famlies, which include long-legged (e.g. Assamiidae), but also short-legged (e.g. Triaenonychidae) species.
